The School of Public Health occupies property adjacent to the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Broadway Campus. A pair of rowhouses was converted to a carpentry shop, with a paint spray booth on the topmost floor. During certain weather conditions, the quality of their painting work suffered as a result of improper temperature and/or humidity conditions in the booth.
This project included a make-up air system to provide conditioned air to the booth, with DX cooling, electric reheat, and steam humidification. Electrical service to the building was upgraded to accommodate the new equipment, and a new grounding system was specified. Design was complete in early 2005, and construction will occur in phases.
