Seton Court was originally a Catholic secondary school, built circa 1910. Located one block from Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus in Baltimore, the 75,000 SF historic structure is being completely renovated to include state-of-the-art classrooms and administrative space for three different University programs. The project will cost approximately $6.5 million, and is expected to be complete in December 2005.
MEC provided complete mechanical and electrical design services for the project. The existing water source heat pump system was modified to accommodate new partition layouts and ceiling conditions. A dedicated ventilation air unit with heat recovery and dehumidification controls, was added to the building to accommodate increased outdoor air requirements. New lighting, data, telephone, and power circuits were provided throughout, and the electrical service was replaced and upgraded. Toilet rooms were replaced, and their capacity was increased.
